Full-Width Topper Fold & Recovery Test

Internal engineering test — not an EN, ASTM, CPSC or medical certification.
What are we testing?
Can the structural full-width topper form and retain a fold by accident in a normal sleep situation — under the influence of a small child or a sleeping adult — rather than through deliberate folding or play?
Why this test matters
- Any topper can be folded deliberately, or end up folded during wild play. That is not the safety-relevant question.
- What matters is whether a fold can occur by accident in a normal sleep situation, and whether the construction recovers on its own.
- The comparison point is loose bedding, which can fold and stay folded.
Method basis
Co-sleeping.com internal protocol. We publish measured behaviour (retained overlap, recovery time) rather than an invented “infant-safe” certificate.
Protocol
Protocol under development together with third-party test laboratories.
