The same mattress as your family bed

The module comes with the same reversible pocket spring mattress used in the bed itself: 16.5 cm deep, with an OEKO-TEX®-certified cover and a different firmness on each side. Simply flip it at home if you prefer the other side.

Three module widths, one length

The module adds its full width to your existing bed. It matches the bed's 200 cm length, while the 20.5 cm-high base sits flush with the rest of the bed.

Extension

Make your family bed wider with an extra module

The extension module includes the same base and mattress used to build the FamBed family bed. Available separately, it lets you make your bed wider or replace one section without buying a new bed. The module comes in 70, 80 and 90 cm widths and is 200 cm long. Legs, cover, sheet and mattress topper are separate products and are not included.

Frequently asked questions about Extension module for FAMBED®

Which width should we choose?

The module adds its full width to your existing bed. The family bed is built from standard modules measuring 80, 90, 105, 120 or 140 cm wide, so adding an 80 cm module to a 240 cm bed makes it 320 cm wide. If you're unsure which modules your bed is made from, email us at hello@fambed.com with the bed's dimensions before ordering.

Is the mattress the same as the one in the family bed?

Yes. The module comes with the same reversible pocket spring mattress used in the family bed. It is 16.5 cm deep, has an OEKO-TEX® certified cover and offers one firmness on each side. Choose between Medium/Firm and Firm/Extra Firm, then simply flip the mattress at home whenever you want to switch firmness. View the pocket spring mattress on its own

Which firmness should we choose?

Choose based on the heaviest adult sleeping in the bed, as their weight determines how much the springs yield. Medium/Firm is recommended for up to 80 kg, or if you prefer a softer bed. Firm/Extra Firm is recommended for up to 140 kg, or if you prefer a firm bed.

Are the legs and cover included with the module?

No. The module consists of the base and mattress. The family bed's legs and cover are sold separately, so you only buy what the new width actually requires. You'll find the corner and centre legs under Spare Parts, while the cover is made to fit the bed's new overall width. View all spare parts

How long will our module take to arrive?

Like the bed itself, the module is made to order. Production currently takes around 4 weeks, followed by approximately one week for shipping, depending on where in the world you live. Please allow around 5 weeks from ordering to delivery. At checkout, you'll receive a more precise estimate based on your address. We'll email you the final date after your purchase as soon as it has been confirmed with our production team. Production only begins once you have confirmed your order in the email we send after your purchase, so you'll have the opportunity to let us know about any changes then. You'll receive tracking updates once your order has been dispatched.
